How the hints work

Every board gives you four clues before the word. The first counts the vowels and tells you whether a letter repeats. The next three name the first letter, the last letter and the middle letter.

The fifth tap shows the full word with a short definition. Stop as soon as a clue unlocks the board.

No spoilers unless you ask

This page never prints the answers. Each clue appears only when you tap its button, and the words stay hidden until the last one.

Hints do not change your streak or your stats, so a peek costs you nothing. The clues match the boards of the daily Octordle, in the same order.

Use hints to learn, not to skip

The best way to use a hint is to solve the board yourself afterwards. Ask what the clue told you that your guesses had missed, and you will spot the same pattern faster next time.
