How Octordle Sequence works
Sequence uses the same eight boards as the classic game, but you only see one of them at a time. Solve the board on screen, and the next one opens.
You get 15 guesses for the whole sequence. That is two more than the daily Octordle, and the extra guesses pay for the added difficulty of working blind.
Hidden boards still learn from every guess
Every word you type is scored on all eight boards, including the ones you cannot see yet. When a board opens, it already shows all your earlier guesses, colors and all.
That changes how you play. Early guesses feed the later boards, so the last words in a sequence often fall in a guess or two.
What the keyboard shows
In Sequence, each key carries one color: what that letter did on the board in front of you. The eight small markers from the classic game would give away the hidden boards, so they collapse into one bar.
Three tips for the sequence
- Open wide. Play three words with no shared letters, as in our list of the best Octordle starting words. Every letter you test also tests the boards you cannot see.
- Do not rush the first board. It is the hardest one, because it starts with the least information.
- Count your guesses. With eight words and 15 guesses, you have seven spare guesses. Spend them early while they still pay off.

Scoring
Each board scores the guess number that solved it, and an unsolved board costs 16 points. Add the eight numbers together, and a lower total is better.
Frequently asked questions
How many guesses do you get in Octordle Sequence?
You get 15 guesses for all eight words, two more than in the classic daily puzzle. The guesses are shared across the whole sequence.
Do my guesses count on the boards I cannot see?
Yes. Every guess is scored on all eight boards in the background. When a board opens, it already shows every guess you made before.
Is the daily sequence the same as the daily puzzle?
No. Octordle Sequence has its own eight words each day, so playing one never gives away the other.
Does Sequence count toward my daily streak?
Sequence keeps its own stats and streak, separate from the classic daily puzzle.
